Google Maps predicts traffic — Not only does
the site offer live traffic information, it can also predict
conditions based on past coverage. Google says it has comprehensive
traffic data in 30 major metropolitan areas, with partial coverage in
others. I, for one, am grateful: This should be a huge help in
deciding when to navigate the fearsome stretch of Highway 101 between

A motorcyclist killed in an early-morning crash
in San Jose Sunday has been identified as 37-year-old Jorge Luis
Hernandez, the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office reported.
According to initial reports, Hernandez, a San Jose resident, was
involved in what appeared to be a solo-vehicle crash on southbound
U.S. Highway 101 near North 13th Street at about 2:25 a.m., California
Highway Patrol Officer Marc Johnston said. Hernandez was taken to a
nearby hospital with a possible head injury and later died, Johnston
said...

San Francisco on the 101 is approx. 43 minutes under optimal traffic
conditions, however, traffic congestion can increase the travel time
considerably.
